Happy Mother's Day from Heart of Haiti

No one likes being told or made to do something they don't want to do. Right? Well, when the Clever Girls asked me to name, "A Woman to Help You" I didn't immediately jump to say my mother, much as I love her. Mom was definitely on the list, the very first name I scrawled down, but I did think of other women that have helped me in some way in my life.

So, back to being made to do something that I didn't want to. When I thought of mom, I immediately began to think of all the ways mom pushed and encouraged me in things that I did not want to do growing up. At the time I thought it was the meanest thing in the world, my mom making me do things that I would rather run from. But when I thought about it a little more, I convinced myself of what I have known for a long time.

All those things that I did not want to do, were the best thing for me, and mom knew that. She got me out of my shell, she kept me doing things that I would later love, and she made sure that I was able to experience new things and places.  She helped me more growing up, than I could've known, but I know it now :)

Heart of Haiti from Macy's brings fair trade goods from artisans of Haiti, working to provide their families with income after the devastating hurricane last year. There are several very beautiful and useful home goods that any mother would love to have.

With Mother's Day coming up, it is a great time to shop the collection, grab a gift for a woman who helped you in life and help support some wonderful artisans.
