What To Do With a Raccoon Graveyard?

We have the pleasure of living right next to a forest preserve that travels all the way to the River, our creek joins it eventually. This also means that we have a lot of wildlife running around, friends refer to it as the Zoo. The other day the kids told me about this really weird discovery that they stumbled on just next to the open fence, on the way to the creek, and after checking it out I have the heebie jeebies.

There is this huge, disgusting raccoon graveyard sitting out there! No kidding. We have a resident coyote, he is rarely around during the day and it is very rare that we do see him, but he is there. He, like every other animal around here, uses the underpass to cross from our patch of woods to the other side and we see him come and go.

Not really sure what else would kill that many raccoons, eat them up in most cases, and them leave them all there. Also not sure why he would be so comfortable bringing them back to this spot to eat because it is so close to our home and we have three dogs that are always in the yard and kids that are always out there making noise.

So now we need to figure out what to do with it. What do you do with a raccoon graveyard? Do I clean it up? Leave it be? I don't want to clean it up, but I worry about the kids or the dogs poking around in it.
