I'm sure you've all read it by now, 300 young women in India decided to change their names from Unwanted. Even though I don't know a single one of these girls, I am extremely proud of all of them. It is a hard thing for me to imagine being a child and not just feeling unwanted, but knowing that it is so.
One of the reasons Dickens has been a favorite author of mine since childhood was because he planted this seed in society about children. He made everyone think about they way they treated them, used them, begrudged them. Dickens really changed the way children were brought up, protected, and cherished. We need another mirror.

Quick #Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas
In my last post I shared a recipe for Caramel Apple Cupcakes with y'all and it got me thinking about all the other Halloween cupcakes I have made in the past. More often than not we end up going to a Halloween party at the last minute or have folks call and let us know they are on their way.
It has been forever since I put together a Squidoo lens, and all the ones that I did make I deleted years ago for some reason. Making cupcakes with the twins this past weekend had me thinking of all the super quick and easy Halloween cupcake decorating ideas I have tried and I decided to put together a lens.
If you are looking for something quick to throw together for a party this weekend, check it out. And if you have a Squidoo account, do me a favor and Like it because Squidoo has changed a lot and lenses are only featured now once you have gotten 20 other Squids to like it.
BTW, I foresee a lot of lens making in the future. The process is so streamlined that it is actually tons of fun.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes! #Halloween #Recipe
Don't these caramel apple cupcakes look delicious? That's because they were!!
Earlier this month we celebrated the twin's 15th birthday party, which is as important as celebrating your Sweet 16. None of us has had a big quince, our parents didn't really push it and none of us pushed for one either.

#Fitness Tip: Biking Exercise for Hips & Outer Thigh
I have been biking a lot more since I got my Terry Symmetry and we moved closer to the bike trails, but I noticed that I need to work my hips and outer thighs out before I ride. I don't usually workout or stretch at all before hitting the trail, but yesterday I decided to look up an exercise that would work my hips and thighs out.
Found a move called the Skater Squat that actually made a lot of sense for cyclers, so the girls and I tried it in the parking lot before riding. I did a few free standing and then used the bike racks to balance myself for the next few. Really did the trick and thought I would share for those of you looking for a good move to add for your hips. Going to use it myself from now on.

Squidoo Spotlight: Local Business Marketing Tips
When you own a family run, local business, finding ways to market locally might not come easily. In fact, most businesses do not even consider marketing from the get go, but instead focus on opening and then running their business doing the trade or service that they know. My family learned early on that it is very important that you market your business and that the ways to do it are always changing. This is where local business marketing tips come in handy!

Jif's Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest! #Recipe
Have you heard about the Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest?! The twins and I have been easy baking and eating our way through more peanut butter than I care to admit, but it's okay because peanut butter is one of those good tasting healthy snacks. To help Latinos showcase their creativity in the kitchen, Jif is giving one kid the chance to win a $25,000 college fund and an additional $10,000 in educational prizes.

It Was A Taboo & Carnaval Kinda Day! #LatinMusic #Musicalatina #Music
Most people start their day and choose a playlist to go along with how they are feeling when they step out the door. I am the total opposite. Generally, I get up, randomly pick a couple songs to play, one sticks, deciding the kind of day I am going to have. Weird, I know.
Today, Taboo, was the second song on shuffle. Perfect! It's totally a Taboo kinda day :)
Its funny because no matter how much I tell myself its enough with Don Omar, Pitbull, and Daddy Yankee, I keep coming back to their music. Its just so addictive.

Thrillist #Giveaway Roundup! iPods, iPads, Tickets & More
If you haven't heard of Thrillist, it's basically the Daily Candy equivalent for men. I first came across it last year when I was looking for a neat present for one of my brothers, and fell in love with the witty banter in which each company, restaurant, and new website was delivered.
All the coolness aside, this month I have noticed all the cool giveaways that Thrillist hosts with tons of sponsors. They are usually on the bottom of their emails, in a tiny box. Most of them are with music sponsors, to promote a new album or concert, but since I started paying attention I have seen everything from iPods to iPads to instruments to furniture.
