Anyway, since I have been talking about the new Dove Clear Tone Deodorant and what it can do for the dark marks that can appear on underarms, I thought I would talk a little about what my beauty regiment looks like so that I can dare to bare my arms.
Once a Month
Once a month I will was my underarms and I do this for a couple reasons. Unlike my sisters, I do not have pale skin that shaved hair follicles stand out against. I wax because it reduces the amount of hair that needs waxing in the first place and because it reminds me to exfoliate regularly. The other thing I do once a month, and this is a trick my grandmother shared with me, is to use a homemade lemon juice rinse. I apply this all over my arms, face and anywhere that I have uneven skin tone. It helps with the dark spots, blemishes and makes my skin look healthy.
Every Two Weeks
I exfoliate a little more than once a month on account of the tendency for dark spots to appear under my arms and on my elbows. Both of these spots on my arms collect dead skin, but because both of these spots are sensitive, it is important not to do it too often. I also like to make my own scrubs to exfoliate with, and usually they are sugar scrubs with honey, olive oil or buttermilk. These are super good for the skin.
Weekly
Once or twice a week I use super moisturizing lotion on my arms to make sure that they are healthy looking and don't have any ashy parts. I have to make sure to do this all the time because even a couple days skipped can mean skin problems when I want to wear something sleeveless.
Daily
Using an underarm deodorant that won't react negatively to my skin is super important for those nights that I want to wear something out that will keep me cool, but also feeling confident. When I go out, I like to dance, and your arms are a big part of dancing-- real dancing folks. Salsa dancing has your arms up, over your head, wrapped around, flying, posing and grabbing (the good kind ;) ). Now that I know about Dove Clear Tone Deodorant and the way it not only prevents the creation of dark marks on your skin, but reduces the appearance of dark marks, blemishes and even evens out skin tone I have been excited to use it.
